In its judgment of 12 May 1998 – 312 O 85/98, “Liability for Links” – Hamburg Regional Court ruled that posting a link entails joint responsibility for the content of the site linked to. According to the Regional Court, this can only be prevented by explicitly dissociating oneself from such content.
