For two decades, the company has advised international businesses on\nwarehousing, freight and logistics \u2013 now, as it celebrates its anniversary, founder\nJens Peter Hartung welcomes his son, Nikolaj Hartung, into the management team.<\/b><\/p>

Twenty years of growth \u2013 twenty years of positive financial results and a customer base\nestablished across Europe. Founder Jens Peter Hartung has every reason to be satisfied\nwith the company he established in 2005. From the outset, his ambition was to create a\ntrustworthy and loyal advisory partner for businesses with complex international transport\nneeds.<\/p>

\u201cWe make it our business to understand every detail of each client\u2019s operations, and we\nalways go the extra mile. Loyalty and honest advice have always been our key values \u2013\nand they will continue to be,\u201d says Jens Peter Hartung.<\/p>

LogistikPartner advises European companies of all types on how to reduce freight and\nlogistics costs \u2013 from internal process optimisation to selecting the right freight forwarders\nand transport providers.<\/p>

\u201cIn most projects, the savings in freight costs are over 15 per cent \u2013 and sometimes our\ncustomers save up to 40 per cent. We spend a great deal of time analysing existing\nsolutions and identifying the best specialists in the market our client operates in,\u201d he\nexplains.<\/p>

In practice, LogistikPartner screens the European and overseas markets for relevant\nfreight providers, prepares tender documents and helps clients negotiate new agreements\nwith transport and logistics companies.<\/p>

Jens Peter Hartung often compares their role to that of a lawyer or an auditor \u2013\nprofessionals who must be deeply involved in a company\u2019s core operations in order to give\nqualified advice.<\/p>

\u201cWhen we work with a client, we meet everyone \u2013 the forklift drivers, the warehouse staff,\nthe office employees and the CEO. We must be able to navigate at all levels \u2013 otherwise\nwe won\u2019t find the best solution.\u201d<\/p>

Deep knowledge of the European transport market<\/h4>

In its early years, LogistikPartner operated exclusively in Germany. Within a few years, the\ncustomer base expanded to include Danish and other European clients. Today, around 70\nper cent of revenue still comes from Europe \u2013 with Germany as the largest single market.\nThe company employs 12 specialists, all with practical backgrounds in trade or industrial\nbusinesses.<\/p>

Jens Peter Hartung grew up near the Danish-German border, is bilingual and his family\nroots are both Danish and German. Now 61 years old, he has built an extensive European\nnetwork among freight forwarders, logistics companies and industrial clients.<\/p>

\u201cOur strength lies in our deep understanding of the European transport market and our\noperations across almost every European country. Whatever challenge we encounter with\na client, I always know someone we can draw on for insight,\u201d he says.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Modernisation \u2013 without losing the roots<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Nikolaj Peter Hartung, the founder\u2019s son, is a trained freight forwarder and has built up\nsolid international experience during his time at DSV in both Nuremberg and Hamburg.\nMost recently, he served as a team leader responsible for both national and international\ntraffic for DSV\u2019s customers and fleet. In addition, he has worked in Denmark in a company\nwhere he handled a wide range of freight and supply chain-related tasks.<\/p>

Since 1 January 2025, he has been Project Manager at LogistikPartner, leading various\nprojects and working closely with both clients and colleagues.<\/p>

\u201cWe must constantly challenge the status quo \u2013 also digitally. Right now, we are testing AI\nto see where technology can automate internal processes and strengthen our data\nanalysis \u2013 making it faster and even more precise,\u201d says Nikolaj Peter Hartung.<\/p>

Years ago, Jens Peter Hartung himself was an IT entrepreneur when he initiated the\ndevelopment of the software that today forms an integral part of LogistikPartner\u2019s success.<\/p>

\u201cI think it\u2019s a real strength that Nikolaj is taking the lead in moving us forward digitally. The\ntechnological transformation many companies are going through is something\nLogistikPartner must embrace, and I\u2019m confident that with his expertise and curiosity,\nNikolaj can tackle the challenge alongside me better than anyone else could,\u201d says Jens\nPeter Hartung.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Nikolaj Peter Hartung emphasises that cultural understanding has always played \u2013 and\ncontinues to play \u2013 a major role.

\u201cWe see that Danish companies are very focused on efficiency and lean processes,\nwhereas many German companies are more inclined to maintain long-term suppliers,\nestablished routines and a relationship-driven way of working. We need to understand that\ndifference and be part of it,\u201d says Nikolaj Hartung.<\/p>

Living and working in an international German environment has given him valuable insight\ninto clients\u2019 everyday operations and work culture.<\/p>

\u201cEverything is generally more formal south of Denmark, and I\u2019m convinced that part of our\ninternational success comes from bringing clients greater efficiency and demonstrating\ntangible cost savings. But it only works because we can communicate in German\n\nthroughout every stage of the process \u2013 and because our values align with those of our\nclients,\u201d he says.<\/p>

Both Jens Peter Hartung and Nikolaj Peter Hartung see it as a major advantage that\nLogistikPartner remains family-owned, and that the son is entering into what they describe\nas a kind of professional apprenticeship. They both stress that the company\u2019s existing\nvalues \u2013 and its loyalty to customers \u2013 will remain unchanged.<\/p>

\u201cI\u2019m truly looking forward to it \u2013 it\u2019s a huge honour, but also a big responsibility. It\u2019s not just\na job \u2013 it\u2019s a family\u2019s lifelong work,\u201d says Nikolaj Hartung.<\/p>

\u201cA generational shift has quietly begun. Nikolaj will work more \u2013 and I will work a little less,\u201d\nsays Jens Peter Hartung with a smile.
